All events will be held in the White Salmon River Gorge in Washington State. The White Salmon River drains the South portion of Mt Adams and Mt Adams Wilderness. It’s located in the south central portion of Washington State, a short 15 min drive North of the Kayak Shed in Hood River, Or.

The White Salmon River Gorge is a narrow winding canyon teaming with difficult, technical class 5 white water and multiple technical water falls. All Extreme Downriver Race competitors and Trails Extreme Race competitors will be required to have ample skills to easily paddle class 5 white water and technical water falls.

Mother Nature has cooperated and the White Salmon River is at a great level for racing on the Green Truss section! There has been a lot of discussion as to where the extreme race will be and yes it is going to be from above Bobs Falls to below Double Drop this Saturday (Men’s and Women’s Categories). For Saturday’s race we will be holding a qualifier Friday below BZ Falls on the Maytag section of the White Salmon (put in for the Middle -Men’s, Women’s, and Junior, Categories). Sorry if this is inconvenient for you it’s what we could get from the Forrest service and what works for the raft companies. On Saturday after the extreme race there will be a head to head Boater Cross Race on the same stretch as the trials race (Men’s, Women’s, and Junior, Categories). We will have a $1000 cash purse for prize money split between the Down River Extreme Race and the Boater Cross.

We will have same day registration but we might run out of space so register on line. If you want to compete in the Truss Race (Down River Extreme Race) only register for the qualifier. No need to register for the Truss Race you will be registered when you qualify.

We are looking for safety boaters! If interested please call 541-386-4286. It will be the only way to see the Down River Extreme Race.

Any questions please call Kayak Shed 541-386-4286.

Extreme Downriver
The Extreme Downriver racers will first need to qualify via the less technical and less hazardous trials extreme race. If river levels require - a separate time trials race will be held to qualify for the Extreme Downriver Race.

Gorge Games Boatercross
Men’s, Women’s, and Junior’s Boatercross race will be a multi-paddler start requiring paddlers to race simultaneously from point A to B and navigate race gates on the way.

Safety
Racers will be required to wear chin guards or masks to protect themselves from competitors’ paddle blades. Helmets with masks will be available upon request for competitors that do not have one.

All participants will receive a Gorge Games technical tee shirt, athletes appreciation bag, athletes pass to Adventure Village and all Community events, and an experience you'll always remember!
